The Town of Grand Bank would like to post a new policy in response to many requrest to install benches and seating swings on the Nature Trail and Marine Hike. In order to maintain the look and feel of both the Nature Trail and Marine Hike for all; while allowing residents to remember those loved ones that truely enjoyed the trail and are sadly no longer with us, the Town has created the following policy.

POLICY #87
SUBJECT: Nature Trail and Marine Hike Memorial Bench & Swing Policy
PURPOSE:
- All benches and swings will be considered a donation to the Town of Grand Bank in memory of a loved one.
- This means the Town of Grand Bank will install and maintain the donated bench or swing.
- The location of the bench/swing will be determined by the Town.
- All bench and swing designs must be approved by the Town and fit in an area no larger than 6 foot by 4 foot.
- Only small name plates and or pictures can be installed on the bench or swing, no other materials such as statues, shrines, large decorations, etc
- Any existing benches and swings with above mentioned materials that were installed before this policy will be grandfathered in and will be untouched by Town staff.
- The Town of Grand Bank retains the duty and authority to remove any benches, swings, or materials; either newly installed or grandfathered in, that become damaged and proves to be a safety concern.
- Town Employees will regularly inspect all benches/swings/materials on the hiking trails.
- Sole decision and determination of the condition and safety of any Benches/Swings/Materials, including the decision to remove identified safety concerns, will be made by The Town of Grand Bank.
